Position Description
Level commensurate with experience and skill set.
Primary purpose:
o Responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of Company gas/liquid pipelines, appurtenances, compressor stations, process plants and other related facilities.
Essential duties and
Responsibilities:
o Responsible for the operation and maintenance of pipelines, compressors and auxiliary equipment, engines, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, process equipment, valves, seals and other related equipment.
o Start, stop and operate engines/pumps within defined operating parameters.
o Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of all engines, pumps and associated equipment at compressor stations, pipelines, and process plants.
o Diagnose and repair engines, turbines, pumps, seals, valves and instruments.
o Install, repair, service and maintain valves, pipe, pipeline appurtenances, corrosion control protection systems and measurement equipment.
o Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment, including pipeline right-of-way, and gathering or storage areas, including but not limited to excavating, repairing, coating and backfilling pipelines, concrete work, painting, building erection, weed control, etc.
o Maintain, adjust, make minor repairs, and operate equipment (e.g., water pumps, air compressors, expanders, coolers, test equipment, vehicles, etc.)
o Represent the Company during contacts with landowner/tenants, public officials/emergency officials and at local meetings. (One Call, Pipeline Groups, Soil Conservation, USFS, etc.)
o Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
o Train and oversee company and third party personnel as required (e.g., personnel in progression, transport drivers, contractors, visitors)
o Perform governmental compliance activities (PHMSA, State Agencies, EPA, USFS, etc.)
o Perform minor electrical maintenance.
o Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
o Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
o Participate in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans.
o Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping.
o Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory, and Company tariff requirements.
o Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.
o Regular and predictable attendance.
o Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Minimum requirements:
Education:
o High School Diploma or GED
Experience / specific knowledge:
o Understand operation, maintenance and general troubleshooting of internal combustion engines with hands-on experience preferred
o Must respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies after regular business hours including evening/night hours, which will require carrying a communication device.
o Knowledge of compressor facilities and gathering and transmission pipeline system operations.
o Knowledge reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs and other diagrams
o Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquid, and high/low pressure systems
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
o Possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirements
o May be required to possess a commercial driver's license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations
o May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties
o Achieve and maintain all PHMSA Operator Qualification and progression requirements applicable to the job classification.

o Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and other company software)
o Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)

o Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules

Physical demands:
o Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions
o Must be able to frequently:
o Enter confined spaces
o Climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders and walkways
o Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and 50 pounds from floor to waist.
o Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, climb vertical access ladders and stairwells, carry up to 50 pounds and to see, hear, walk and talk effectively.
Working conditions:
o Must live in the general vicinity of Enterprise, MS and be able to work routinely at facilities in the Enterprise and Bay Springs area
Must be available to serve as plant on call operator on a rotating basis with coworkers
May work in low-lit areas
o Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions
o Must be able to climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways, etc.
o Depending upon the location and workload, travel will be required
o Be available for shift work when applicable
Supervisory responsibility:
o None
Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
o A two-year technical degree with previous industry work experience.
o Classroom and hands-on training in mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting (automotive / diesel / industrial) through a public secondary institution or accredited independent provider, or equivalent experience .
